We have big news, we bought a bigger RV!
A bigger RV means a real size kitchen, not the easy bake oven model. It also means it will soon be time to hit the road and visit farmers markets across the country. Visiting local food producers from all around. Sampling regional foods and developing new recipes that the fresh food inspires.
Other news around Knoxville: Scott’s is now selling strawberries from a stand in West Town Mall parking lot. We have had a special relationship with these stands since the days of remodeling our home. For weeks we lived in our garage, I cooked in a toaster oven and microwave, washed dishes in the mop sink and we dined at a card table set up near our garage refrigerator. Those weeks coincided with Scott’s strawberry season, John made friends with the vendor, and we ate multiple quarts a day. It was so much easier to eat fresh fruit than cook anything. I admit I know little about their growing practices, but they have become a West Knoxville institution in our family.
