My goal is 75% local, this time of year I would say our food dollars are more toward the 90% mark. My grocery receipt looks a little like this:
beer
pretzels
baking supplies
olive oil
bananas
avocados
fresh mozzarella
butter
sparkly water
cat food
And from my raised beds garden:
Rouge d’Hiver and Little Gem lettuces, spinach, green onions, basil, dill, and french breakfast radishes, so far. :)
It feels so good to be buying local! not to mention the amazing meals we have been eating. Smoked Chicken with Heirloom Salads greens, Spring Lamb and Spinach Pizzas, Asparagus Risotto, Spring Pesto Pasta Primavera, Tuna and Farm Egg Salad over Bordeaux Spinach, Bison Burgers with Super Sweet Onions and Crisp Coleslaw. I will be posting recipes for these dishes soon.
